August 26th, 2020 LAPD kettled protestors marching inside of the 3rd Street tunnel in downtown Los Angeles, trapping them in on both sides. With increasing violence and police brutality rising, protestors came prepared with personal protective gear and shields. After protestors were ordered to drop their signs and shields, LAPD ambushed the peaceful group from the back with less lethal munitions, leaving them completely powerless against this attack with no where to escape.

After LAPD made several arrests and targeted shots against organizers and POC, a dispersal order was read, still with the group trapped, no where to disperse to. Protestors, press and legal observers were frisked 5 at a time and searched before being allowed to leave the tunnel. Several accounts of sexual assault during these searches have been reported.
